one of these things is not like the other...

The caption from today's photo accompanying the NY Times piece on the Ayman Nour trial reads:

"Ayman Nour, a prominent candidate in the presidential election this fall, with co-defendants at court in Cairo on Tuesday."

As someone just pointed out to me... Do these co-defendants look anything like Nour? Or his co-workers? Nour asserts that he doesn't know any of the men he is accused of ordering to forge signatures on his petition for candidacy. I'm going to make a gut decision and say he is not telling a lie. It's pretty clear that these men- especially shades there -are hired hands for a little frameup. They'll be slapped with fines, Nour will go to jail- now ineligable for the presidency- and all will go on. Within 6 months, these guys will be sitting in new air-conditioned flats in 6th of October city. (Not, mind you, that I think that reward sounds remotely appealing.)
