saad, in or out?

Saad Hariri just spent a few days in Riyadh, 'visiting the wife and kids.' I'm curious as to whom else he might have been visiting during his trip there, and what this might mean for Lebanese foreign policy and even more immediately perhaps, fiscal policy and foreign investments.

This is the first Saad has been back to Saudi since the elections. Does anyone know why the wife and kids are still in Riyadh? and more pressingly, wouldn't you choose to move back to Beirut over Riyadh the moment the opportunity presented itself? I jest. Sort of. I'd use the excuse (if I were Saad, and if anyone asked) that it is for security considerations that Madame Hariri and the progeny remain in Saudi.

More fanning of the fire. When Hariri arrived at home he reported that he was backing his late father's close friend and former Justice Minister, Bahije Tabbara, for the Prime Ministry. Now apparently there are rumours that he might stand? Who counseled him on this? This goes against his previously declared humility and certainly against the advice of Jumblatt (not that Jumblatt is a man to necessarily seek advice from.) and should certainly make people question what happened, or whom he spoke with in Saudi to have him change his mind.
